When to call
Situations that can’t wait
Cut fibre optic cable
A link down between two sites, a severed cable or a damaged splice enclosure.
Damage during excavation
A cable torn out by an excavator, a drill or heavy equipment on a work site.
Damaged pole or strand
A collision, a storm or a fallen tree affecting your aerial cables.
Copper cable failure
Cut pairs or water infiltration interrupting phone or data service.
Before you dig, have underground networks located for free by Info-Excavation.
Before you call, have ready
- Your company name and an on-site contact we can reach
- The exact address or GPS coordinates of the damage
- The type of cable affected (fibre, copper, coaxial) and its owner, if known
- What happened, and at what time
- Photos of the damage and the surrounding area
While you wait for our crew
- Don’t touch the cable or attempt any repair
- Never look into the end of a cut fibre: the laser is invisible
- Mark off the area (cones, tape) to prevent further damage
- Don’t backfill the trench: we need to see the damage
